Crave Nutrients Bladderwrack- Whole Leaf (sundried) is a type of seaweed found on the coasts of the North Sea, the western Baltic Sea, and the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It gets its name from the conspicuous air-filled bladders that keep the plant afloat.

Bladderwrack Whole Leaf has a distinct sea-like aroma and taste. Its color can range from greenish-brown to a darker brown, depending on the harvesting and drying processes.

Bladderwrack naturally contains high content minerals such as iodine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfur, and silicon. It's also rich in some B-complex vitamins and various trace elements, contributing to its overall nutrient density.

For culinary uses, it's sometimes included as an ingredient in recipes, particularly in specialty diets where additional minerals are desired. It should be noted for consumption, the iodine content is especially notable because excessive iodine intake can lead to health complications. Therefore, any dietary use should be approached with caution and ideally under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

Ingredients: Fucus vesiculosus (bladderwrack), wild-harvested.

Before starting any new herbal supplement, consult with a healthcare professional, particularly if you have pre-existing medical conditions, are taking medications, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. This step is crucial, especially for conditions related to the thyroid, due to the high iodine content in bladderwrack.

  1. Preparation:

    • If using dried whole leaf bladderwrack, you may need to grind it yourself. Use a mortar and pestle or a dedicated herb grinder to crush the dried leaves into a coarse or fine powder, depending on your preference.
  2. Determining Dosage:

    • The general suggestion for bladderwrack intake is 1/2 to 1 teaspoons daily. Add to your soup, blend with sea moss gel, or make a nutritious tea.
  3. Monitoring Your Reaction:

    • Pay attention to your body's response. Start with the lower end of the dosage spectrum to gauge your body’s tolerance and reaction, then adjust as necessary under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
    • If any adverse reactions occur (such as an allergic reaction, upset stomach, changes in thyroid function), discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider.
  4. Consistency and Timing:

    • Take bladderwrack consistently, preferably at the same time each day if you’re consuming it daily. Consistency helps in maintaining a stable level of nutrients provided by the supplement.
    • Do not exceed the recommended dosage. It’s important to follow dosage guidelines to avoid potential side effects, particularly those related to excessive iodine consumption.
  5. Storage:

    • Store any unused bladderwrack in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, to preserve its efficacy and shelf life. Use an airtight container to prevent exposure to humidity and potential contamination.

Caution:

  • It is important to consult with a healthcare practitioner before taking Crave Nutrients Bladderwrack, particularly if you have pre-existing medical conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Consult with a healthcare practitioner before using if you have a thyroid condition as excessive iodine intake can cause thyroid problems.
